The other morning I said to myself, "Is there anything I can do that will make it more likely that the gardeners who have joined my gardening meetup will want to actually 'meetup' in person?"

"Well," I thought, "Maybe if they know a little bit more about me and my gardening...."

So here's my gardening blog...  Let me know what you think, leave a comment below.

So this is me in my usual garden clothes, in front of our house in Apache Junction, Arizona..

Seven years old after I planted it,  this orange tree suddenly decided to produce! The trouble is, when I bought it, they said it was a Mexican lime tree.
But the oranges are delicious.

Clearing out the overgrown, spent chile pepper vines, I found enough red ones to dry and make a "ristra".

After a severe pruning of the lemon tree. All the pruned branches on the ground, cut up small for easy composting. I planted this tree when our three children were small (they are in their early thirties now.
Baby chard seedlings, the only winter crop I've got around to planting this year. The only seeds we could find were the kind with red stems. If I cam keep them from freezing, we'll have chard to eat by  early spring.

Here is a "selfie" of me in my back yard, which I prefer to call a "back garden". I really like the concept of an "outdoor room", with plantings all around.I was inspired by the gardens I saw in Italy. But we also have climbing bars, and swings...something for visiting children to play on.

I love my bird feeder. But I have let the lantana around it get over-taken by Bermuda grass.

This oregano bush is descended from a cutting from Cyprus! A friend of mine got a cutting from a neighbor who was originally from Cyprus, and had bought a plant back from there in the 60's, when one could still bring plants on a plane.
My friend let me take a piece of her plant and it's thriving. I love having an oregano patch which is originally from Cyprus.

Finally got a thyme plant to last through the summer!  Third year I've tried to get one to survive.

Lastly, several of my plants in pots, here and there around the house, and one of my chickens.

Here are my chickens. They don't lay very well anymore, at five years old, but they are good shredders!  This year is their last, except maybe we'll keep Little Bit, because she's so pretty.

So that's me and my garden. I'd love to hear what you think, and hear about your gardens!  Send me your comments (A short security question will be asked.)
